Your credit card will be authorized for $1.00 when you place the order to validate your card, and your account information will be stored in our processing gateway's encrypted off-site data vault. This transaction will be immediately be reversed, but not all banks will reflect this immediately. When your trip is completed, the stored information will be used to charge your account for the exact amount of the fare and tip. This information is deleted after transaction settlement.
If you cancel the order online before the order is assigned to a cab, the authorization will be voided and you will not be charged. To cancel your order after the order is assigned to a cab, please call 608-242-2000, and you will not be charged.
The phone number you provided with your order will be called when the cab has arrived. If our cab arrives at the pickup location and you do not show up within 5 minutes, your card may be charged a fee of $3.50 for orders picking up within the metro area, or $24 for orders originating in the Exurbia zone.

The user, upon ordering a taxicab, accepts full responsibility for the accuracy of any information transmitted to Union Cab for the purpose of providing taxi or courier service. Should Union Cab fail to load because the information is inaccurate (including the willingness of the passenger to take the cab or availability of the passenger at the time the call is due), the user acknowledges that extra charges may be applied.
Union Cab will wait for five minutes upon arrival at the pick-up location or after the order is due whichever is later. If, after five minutes, the passenger has not made contact with the driver, the passenger will be deemed “unavailable for service” and a no-load charge equal to the no-load rate listed with the City of Madison will be assessed to the account. If the passenger makes contact and needs the driver to wait, the driver will turn on the meter unless specifically directed to do otherwise by the person placing the order. In the event that the meter has been turned on and the passenger fails to enter the cab, the User may be assessed a no-load fee of either the total meter or the no-load rate listed with the City of Madison whichever is greater.
